ヘリコプターで町の近くにある氷河に降り立つツアーに参加しました。氷河の上を歩くというと、カナディアンロッキーのコロンビア氷原が有名ですが、コロンビア氷原は日本人をはじめ観光客がやたらと多くて神秘性のかけらもありませんし、肝心の氷原も雪上車に荒されて汚なくなっていますので、清純な美しさはこちらの方が上のように思います。
I participated in a helicopter tour to a glacier near the town. For a walking tour on a glacier, Columbia Icefield in Canadian Rocky is probably the most famous. However, Columbia Icefield lacks of any mysteriousness whatsoever with too many tourists, notably Japanese of course, and the ice fields are dirty due to hard traffic of caterpillared snow vehicles. In contrast I think this glacier near Juneau much purer and more beautiful.
